Birthday

You say it’s your birthday
It’s my birthday too–yeah
They say it’s your birthday
We’re gonna have a good time
I’m glad it’s your birthday
Happy birthday to you.

This is from a song that my friend Paul McCartney wrote to me. Ok, not really… But it is our birthday today. Mine and Paul’s. There are exactly 40 years now until I’m 64. Paul is a bit older though…
Happy birthday Paul!

Procrastinating

I’m supposed to be writing that speech but I keep staring at the computer screen, doing nothing. Well, except for browsing through about million blogs. And blogging myself.
Fjandinn (Icelandic curseword – sorry…) How did I get tricked into this?
And by the way, this speech is supposed to be about fishermen…  Why? Well, this sunday we celebrate Fishermen’s day here in Iceland. The fishing industry is big here and has been for centuries and this day has been celebrated for about sixty years.  The life of so many people in my small hometown revolves around the fishing industry and it’s like that in most of the towns around the country. Almost all towns here in Iceland are by the sea so fishing and this industry is a big part of us.
Well, in my hometown there’s a big celebration this weekend and I was asked to give a speech. About fishermen!

Ok, have to go and read some more blogs. Or log on to facebook. Or stare into space. Or write that darn speech…
