Christmas greetings

I just wanted to wish all of you who might stumble upon my little blog,  a very merry Christmas.
I’m celebrating Christmas tonight, on the 24th, as so many Europeans. Good food, way too many presents and a good time with relatives.

I borrowed the picture from Clara. I hope she doesn’t mind.

Gleðileg jól!

The pretty (plexi) things

Went looking for some Christmas presents today
I mostly saw things I wanted to buy for myself!
This Christmas shopping thing can be dangerous…
I didn’t buy anything though, for myself that is, just some presents.
Most of the things I that I liked were necklaces and bracelets made of plexiglass!
I have a strange obsession with plexiglass.

I wanted these things among others:

Necklace from Stáss, to go with my earrings.

An Iceland-shaped necklace! Can be bought at Naked Ape store

Necklace by IngaBjörk.

Bracelets made by Hulda

Oh happy day

The last exam was today and went surprisingly well.
After that I visited my cutest little friend, who is seven weeks old today. What better way to celebrate the end of exams? And since I last saw him he has learned how to smile. And that almost made my cry. Cute, cute, cute boy!
When I managed to tear myself from the baby, and his mother, I went to one of my most hated places: a mall.
But I made christmas-shopping bearable by buying lots of stuff for myself as well… haha.
I bought:
Christmas tea
(which tastes like chocolate, cinnamon, cranberries, almonds and clover. Yum)
pink mascara!
(I am a 5 year old sometimes)
beautiful Emilio Cavallini tights – in yellow!

And when I came home, Claras Christmas-magazine was here. So I made some Christmas tea, listened to The Nutcracker and read the magazine
I am still smiling.

It’s Christmas soon!

Almost there

The only Christmas decorations in my appartment. Well, apart from the Advent “wreath”.
I love these red lights.

Today is the last day of studying for me! The last final exam is tomorrow. In the past 2-3 weeks I have written 1 essay, taken 5 exams and done one final assignment. And my mental state is surprisingly good! Only one more exam to go.
I get the feeling though that I’ll be watching more QI than studying today.

QI, along with Stephen Fry, is my latest favorite. Funny. Yes.
Thanks to Stephen Fry for keeping me happy through the exams!

Music to study (or take breaks) by

I have got a little music obsessed over the past couple of weeks. I tend to get like that during exam periods. Often I play the same song over and over again. Here’s some of what I’ve been listening to:

Pascal Pinon
four 15 year old Icelandic girls. Cute music and very promising girls.
I have been particularly obsessed with the song Þú varst ævintýr. The song of this terms exams without a doubt. See it live here.

Hjaltalín – Terminal
Hjaltalins new album Terminal is great. Yes, great!

And then there’s been Bach’s Christmas oratorium, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Bloodgroup (Icelandic electromusic) and lots more. Bach went particularly well with my syntax reading…

Randomness

Well, half an hour until the syntax final. I’m relaxed, I hope I’m not overestimating my syntax skills!
I overslept this morning and I feel like it is Monday for some reason.

Here’s my extremely minimalistic Advent “wreath”. It’s Christmas soon.

Syntax!

This has been my life today and yesterday:

Syntax, coffee, gingerbread cookies and a little bit of chocolate. And study breaks, I’m really good at taking breaks. Actually, I think I spend more time on breaks than studying…
