Monthly Archives: October 2009

Tonight I got a little beauty-treatment from my sister-in-law the beautician.
After that:  tea, knitting and Big Love.
Mondays don’t have to be bad.

Off I go

I’m going out of town, to visit my family and friends at my hometown. Can’t wait.
I’m a bit overwhelmed these days by the workload in school. But I think I’ve managed to convince myself that I can do it. There’s a lot to read and a few essays coming up. I just need to be a little more organized and efficient. And less internet hanging…
Visited my pregnant friend Anna yesterday who is due about NOW. She and her husband (yes, she has a husband – very grown-up!) have set up the babies’ crib and there are tiny newly washed clothes all over. Baby clothes are the cutest thing there is. So tiny, hard to imagine that anyone can fit into them!

I’m boring today, aren’t I?

Knitting problems

My brother mentioned the other day that he wanted a pair of woolen socks. I instantly volunteered to the task. (My knitting-confidence has been quite high since I finished BSJ…) Well, I reached the heel of the first sock when I discovered that I actually don’t know how to knit a heel.  I’ve done some google-ing and youtube-ing and ravelry research and this simply seems to be above my understanding. I just don’t get this.  ANNOYING. Very much.
But I’m not giving up. The next thing: Get mum’s help!

3 great things to do on a Monday:
-eating lovely, yummy Indian food with my friend D
-finishing the Brit. Lit. exam
-20 minutes powernap before dinner

Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain

Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
It’s been way too long since I last saw Amélie.
That movie always makes me smile. And the soundtrack is a favorite. Just wonderful.
Soon. Very soon.

SWOON

Swoon is the word of the day.
Swoon. Swoon. Swooning. Swoon. Swoooooon. Funny word and a funny thing; to swoon. I laughed at it a few times today.
I was reading some excerpts from Morte Darthur today (Brit. Lit. exam on Monday) and all King Arthur and his knights seemed to do was swooning. They swooned one after the other. One swooned and then his guts came out. Seriously.
And when King Arthur isn’t swooning he is crying.
When we read this in class our teacher kept excusing King Arthur and said that these extracts were poorly choosed, they weren’t exactly typical of Arthur’s character!
Swoon.

Working girl

I talked so much at work today that my throat actually was a little bit sore by the end of the day.
I think I talked more in English than in Icelandic today. And then there was some Danish, and I even pretended to know norwegian. I do that a lot actually…
Lot’s of customers, a lot to do, a lot of knitting going on in the country at the moment! And of course a lot of happy tourists buying Icelandic woolen goods.
Now I’m kind of worn-out. Wearing my HelloKitty pyjamas (Oh, yes), drinking tea and watching Big Love (my latest favorite – interesting)
Sleep?

Question

How long can a study-break be? Because all of my study-breaks today were about two or three hours long. I think it might be too long…
Well.
