Hay fever!

My allergy is killing me! It has never been as bad as this summer, I feel terrible every day. My nose is running, my throat is sore and itching and my eyes itch. Even though I take my meds. Or maybe I have the swineflue? Blah. This sucks.
But apart from that I’m quite happy! 🙂

Sunday sunday – and knitting!

I’m kind of tired after a long work weekend. I really do not like working on weekends. I need my days off! But luckily I get four days off in stead next weekend. That is if my boss won’t trick me into working. She can be very persuasive and I’m going to say NO. Note to self: say NO.

I’ve been thinking about knitting quite a lot, projects I want to do and such. I’m still knitting that sweater I started a few weeks ago. I’m not very enthusiastic about it to tell the truth. But I’m stubborn and I want to finish it before I start something else. I have a long list of possible projects lined up!
For example I would really like to make something out of this yarn:
nammi5

This is Icelandic laceweight yarn in yummy colors. I just want to eat it! It is homedyed and called nammi (candy).  A suitable name! Check it out here

Harry and Stephen

I’ve recently discovered audiobooks and I find them very very clever. It’s so great to have someone read for me while I walk/bike to work or do chores or knit. Really cool to be able to “read” while doing something else! Currently Stephen Fry is reading Harry Potter and the Halfblood prince to me. I wanted to re”read” it before I go and see the movie. Stephen is almost finished reading so I guess I’ll be going to see the movie sometime next week. By the way, I love Stephen Fry!  I saw him on Top Gear a few weeks ago and he’s so funny. That might have started some Stephen Fry crazyness with me because last week I also watched his documentary about bipolarity. I’ve wanted to see that for some time now and finally got around to it last week. I found it quite interesting and I admire his honesty about his disease.

Smile

I’m sitting here in front of my computer smiling. For no particular reason. I love that.

This and that

I’m considering moving my address to my work. At least I did yesterday when I spent 11 hours inside the store. And yesterday was one of the hottest day of the year, sunny and beautiful. And I spent the whole day inside.  Had I been the owner I would have been seriously tempted to put up a “closed because of weather” sign on the door.

I have come to the conclusion that the worst food in town is to be found at the Radisson SAS staff cafeteria. Good lord it is bad. Seriously bad. We have a small store at the hotel where I occasionally have to work and usually at dinnertime. Every time I go to the cafeteria I hope that they have this time managed to cook up something decent, but they never do. So usually I end up having coffee for dinner. At least untiil I get home!

Tomorrow I don’t have to be at work until 14:00 pm and I’ll only be there for six hours.  It feels like a day off! Been wondering what to do with “all this free time” tomorrow morning and I think I’m going to do some laundry and some long overdue cleaning at my appartment. I even started it tonight.

Camping trip

Nice weather, beautiful country, awesome friends, lots of laughing. Fun!

We stuffed the Volvo. There was almost no room for us! We picnicked. Put up our tent at a beautiful place. We played cards. Attempted to grill some hot dogs. Failed at grilling hot dogs… Boiled hot dogs.

Today is the last day at work before my four day weekend. I love that! Tonight I’m going to my hometown and I’ll be there for two days and then I’m going on a camping trip with friends. Fun fun fun. Although I’m not a big fan of sleeping in tents I admit. But once a year is ok.
And now I have to run. To work!
