A lot of songs make me happy. This is one of my recent favorites.
I listened to this song over and over again for a period last fall.
It makes me happy.

ok, this hardly counts as a song. It’s just a strange strange thing. From the Beatles’ White Album and the song I always skip.
It freaks me out.
I have to admit that I’ve never actually listened to the whole thing, probably just the first two minutes or so. So maybe it gets great after that. I wouldn’t know!

Do I have to mention how hard it is to name just one song?
Well, anyway. This is Svavar Knútur performing Draumalandið, an old Icelandic song. The song starts around 1:00.

It is a melancholic song about summer, birds, flowers and love and it somehow makes me homesick – when I’m at home.

Most of the people who stumble on this pathetic little blog are FM Belfast fans. I find that amusing.
Yes, the most frequent search term is “we come from a place where we count the days”. Which is a line from a “FM Belfast” song. I used it as a blog title once upon a time.
The song is called Underwear and here it is:

Reading and grading essays
Drinking beer.
This one here. Christmas beer! It tastes kind of strange actually.
I’m not going to bed until I’ve finished all the grading for the term. Not much left though, 7 short essays.
I don’t have to hand in the grades until tomorrow night – before midnight. But it will be so nice waking up tomorrow not having to do any assignment/essay reading.
Christmas vacation is just around the corner. Yay!
